Good content, minor tech issues

I rented the Birth Time Documentary and purchased access to the One Woman One Midwife Digital Series. The documentary was impactful and easy to stream. The 'One Woman One Midwife' series had great information, but I did have a bit of buffering on one of the videos, which was a little frustrating. It wasn't constant, just happened a couple of times. Customer service was quick to confirm my access when I had a question about the series. The value for the content is definitely there, especially given the importance of the topics covered, but they could improve the streaming stability slightly.

Documentary rental and Village membership

I purchased the Documentary Digital Rental and a 3-month trial for The Village Membership. The rental process was super smooth, just clicked the link in my email and it played right away on my smart TV, no app needed which was great. Had a small issue accessing the community forum for The Village; it took a day for my access to activate after purchase, but customer support responded to my email within a few hours and got it sorted. The quality of the documentary itself was excellent, really clear picture and sound. The content in the membership, especially the expert interviews, has been insightful and easy to navigate. Overall, a really positive experience and very informative for someone looking to understand birth better.

Great value on bundle

I was looking for some good pregnancy education and saw they had a bundle deal for the Documentary Digital Purchase and some Pregnancy Education Modules. It felt like a really good deal compared to buying them separately. The modules were clear and easy to understand. I felt like I got a lot of information for what I paid, which was important for me as I'm on a budget. Definitely worth the purchase, glad I waited for a bundle.

Absolutely amazing resources

I just accessed the Birth Time Hub and it's incredible! So much valuable information, from educational resources for midwives to postpartum support videos. I've already shared some of the Birth Rights Advocacy Guides with a friend. The expert interviews are particularly well done and the community forum is really active. I'm so glad I found this platform! I'm recommending it to everyone I know who's expecting or working in birth. Will absolutely be back for more content!

Hey, thinking about getting The Village membership. What all comes with it? Is it worth it?

J James Carter 1 week ago
Yeah, it's pretty good. You get access to a bunch of videos, expert interviews, and a community forum. I found the postpartum stuff really helpful.

Plus, you get the One Woman One Midwife series included, which is pretty cool. For the price, I think it's definitely worth checking out.

Does anyone know if they ever have sales or discount codes for the documentary rental? Trying to save a few bucks.

S Sofia T. 1 month ago
I think I saw something about student midwife discounts? Or sometimes if you sign up for their newsletter, they send out offers.

They don't do big sales often, like Black Friday or anything. Your best bet is probably the newsletter, or sometimes partner orgs have codes. They're usually for 10-20% off.

How does this compare to Evidence Based Birth or Ina May Gaskin's stuff? Is it just more of the same or different?

A Amber Jackson 1 week ago
It's definitely in the same vein but has a stronger focus on the midwifery crisis and the systemic issues. More of a call to action, I felt.

While EBB is super informative, Birth Time really hits different with the emotional aspect and advocacy. It's less 'how-to' and more 'why-we-need-change'. Both are good, just different angles.

Wondering about the documentary. If I rent it, how long do I have to watch it? Can I watch it on my smart TV?

D Donna M. 1 week ago
Pretty sure once you start watching, you have like 48 or 72 hours to finish it. It's usually standard for rentals.

Yeah, you can watch it on a smart TV. I cast it from my laptop to the TV and it worked fine. Just make sure you've got good internet.
